In principle, agitators in biogas plants are subject to heavy wear and tear and have different service lives depending on the make and quality of the manufacturer. Of course, this depends on the design and the components used. From an economic point of view, it often makes no sense to maintain submersible mixers in biogas plants; they are operated until the service life of the wearing parts is exceeded. However, this does not mean that the agitators are unusable. Premium manufacturers in particular design their agitators in such a way that they are considered to be technically as good as new once the critical components have been replaced.
